Saturday was a perfect spring day, and a great chance for lots of talented, charitable rowers to get out on the water and row 1,000 meters for Row New York! Six boats competed in our 2nd annual Harlem River Classic fundraiser, and each boat raised at least $4,000 to directly support our free programs of rowing and academics for underserved youth, and para-rowing for those with disabilities. We are so grateful to the rowers, volunteers, and staff members who made the day happen, and we were especially thrilled to see several of our middle schoolers and high schoolers there throughout the day, washing boats, taking in oars, and otherwise making themselves useful. What amazing kids, both on and off the water.
