We are in the last week of training for the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon (which is slated for Sunday, March 19th). Not only is the Row New York team putting their finishing touches on their long-distance runs, they are also in the final push to meet their $1,500 fundraising goals to support Row New York’s free programs for youth and people with disabilities here in New York City.

Today we bring to you: Katherine and Elizabeth! These two motivated ladies love some outdoor fun and have quality motivational quotes for training days. Stop by their CrowdRise pages to make a donation in lieu of running 13.1 miles yourself!

Why are you running for Row New York?

I’m passionate about running and passionate about giving back to the community. Running for Row New York allows me to do both.

What’s your favorite song to train with?

Run the World (Girls) – Beyonce

The best place to go running in the city?

I live and train in Boston. The United Airlines NYC Half Marathon will be my first time running in New York City, so I’m super excited!

Motivational quote/ phrase that keeps you going?

“When you stop chasing the wrong things you give the right things a chance to catch you.”

Anything else we should know?

I’ve ran the Boston B.A.A. half marathon last year. My goal is to run a full marathon in 2018!

Why are you running for Row New York?

I love the idea of this program and see how it’s impacted so many teens. As a retired rower for Fordham, I understand the importance of discipline when combined with academics and sports yields high returns.

What’s your favorite song to train with?

I love to listen to country, especially on long runs. So probably Brett Eldredge.

The best place to go running in the city?

West Side Highway and Battery Park.

Motivational quote/ phrase that keeps you going?

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.” -Dr. Seuss

A big thank you to Elizabeth and Katherine for stepping up and running for Row New York!
