During the summer, Row New York offers field trips and discovery days to New York City area youth groups. In a single visit, groups can experience the first lessons of rowing, from bladework to teamwork. Participants learn to row on the rowing machine, take strokes in an untippable rowing barge, and watch video footage of Olympic rowing. In addition, participants take advantage of the opportunity to escape the city and enjoy the beauty of Meadow Lake and surrounding Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Past participants have included church groups, Beacon programs, local development groups, and branches of the Children’s Aid Society.
