RNY ’07 Monique Carter finished up a sizzling spring/summer this past month. After rowing in the 2V8 for her fourth and final NCAA championship, toppling the likes of Princeton and Harvard, the former Big Ten champion headed to Craftsbury Sculling Center to row under legendary coach Larry Gluckman in preparation for July national team selection. From June 28 to July 1, the Michigan State Spartan competed in the US Under 23 trials and the US Elite Nationals in the Women’s 2x. Carter did not qualify for international competition, but she performed admirably and thanks everyone for their support!

RNY ’13 Shannon McCann finished up her stint at the US Rowing High Performance camp this past weekend. After being pulled up from the Development Camp, Shannon pulled her way into the first eight and the second four. Her crews rowed up into the adult intermediate category (as opposed to the junior events) at the US Club National Championships, making the semis in the 4+, and capturing a bronze medal in the 8+. Congrats!
