One more for the books! Last weekend, our high school teams had a strong performance at Row for Autism in Port Washington, NY. It was a little chilly and a little windy, but it was dry (thankfully!).

The venue was beautiful. There was a beach launch, lots of warm up space and six racing lanes. Most importantly, our athletes gained one more racing experience. This will help them train for the for Long Island Junior Rowing Championships Regatta this coming Saturday, and New York State Championships, which is only three weeks away!

Highlights:

Manhattan’s women’s quad and men’s novice eight came in first. Queens’ novice and JV eights came in second. Manhattan’s girl’s varsity four also came in second. Great job team!

Nick Santos – V8+

Nick tells us that after a long wait at the cold starting line, “the start was quick and unexpected. There’s nothing like a messy start to remind us rowers to be ready for anything! This is just one way that Row for Autism will help our crews train for the upcoming races.”
