It’s that time of the year again. Spring racing season!

The Mercer Lake Sprints happen this weekend in West Windsor, NJ and it will be the first time this season our Row New York girls square off against the other denizens of the high school rowing world. Even if you didn’t know we had a race fast approaching, just coming to practice on saturday would have tipped you off that something was happening soon. Determined expressions, boat/coach meetings before launching, inter-squad racing constantly happening up and down the lake. At one point, we even had all the varsity fours and all the novice eights sprinting head to head. It honestly looked like a small armada, and was quite impressive.

The first race of the season is always an important one since you never know how you’re going to square up against the other crews after an entire season of no races and constant conditioning. Our girls look great on the water though, and like always, are going to this race expecting to bring home some medals.
