Middle School (PREP) Rowing
Row New York’s Pre-competitive Rowing Exposure Program (PREP) for middle schoolers combines athletic training with academic tutoring in a supportive and challenging environment where young people not only improve their fitness and high school readiness but also form new friendships and find an invaluable sense of belonging. PREP activities take place three afternoons a week during the school year and five days a week in the summer. PREP graduates are encouraged to transition on to our ERA (Empowerment through Rowing and Academics) Program for high schoolers.
A Queens PREP rower recently told us:
I am a better person, friend, and sister after joining Row New York because I have learned how to be a good teammate, how to be more of a hard worker, and how to reach out to people.
