This spring break, Kara Courtois came and spoke with Row New York about the college admissions process. Kara, a former Senior Admissions Officer at Barnard College, now works at College Coach, a company that specializes in college advisory services.

Kara explained how the admissions process works, what universities are looking for in students, and how Row New Yorkers can best present themselves to schools. She talked about the wide variety of universities in the country, and how each rower should tailor her search to find the right school for her. Kara also guided our girls through the Common Application, discussed how to approach teachers for recommendations, and identified some key scholarship websites.
