Though Row New York’s Career Connections Month is winding down, this week has been filled with conversations from guest speakers with a variety of careers and perspectives!

Row New York’s Manhattan varsity team was joined by Young Executives Board member and co-founder of Misha Dairy, Max Zinner, who spoke about the parallels between a start up and rowing while thoughtfully fielding our students’ many questions. To activate a business mindset, Max had students complete a worksheet on fixed costs, profit and revenues.

In Queens, varsity girls spoke with Amy Wang, a Strategic Customer Success Manager at Conductor, Inc. and discussed the importance of the soft skills spectrum. Our novices were joined by Elizabeth Felicella, a photographer specializing in architecture and landscape, and Lindsay Van Kirk, who works in business strategy and operations for an advertising technology startup called AppNexus. Tonight, our middle schoolers will be joined by RNY Board member and Foundation Officer at the Educational Foundation of America, Christy Loper and Mikayla Lynch, Associate Manager/Global Communications at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation who’ll share their foundation and philanthropy perspectives with our students.
