Scholastic Rowing League Coaches
Row New York is hiring coaches for our Scholastic Rowing League programs. Our Scholastic Rowing League is made of Independent Schools throughout NYC, and Row New York works with the schools to staff their rowing teams. Each school has a dedicated and resourceful athletics dept. that, along with RNY, is very committed to creating a successful rowing program. Coaching pay is competitive and hours are flexible. Row New York is seeking a part-time* Wellness Coach who will support our teen participants’ emotional and mental well-being and growth. This will be accomplished primarily by facilitating student workshops, empowering staff, and counseling participants in crisis.
The ideal candidate is an engaging, fun, and creative group facilitator and has experience counseling youth through crises, trauma, and the everyday challenges of being a young person. He or she will be committed to guiding our teen participants as they figure out who they want to be, navigate new or changing relationships, and come into their own.
Spanish fluency is required. Must be willing to travel to different program locations in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan
The Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn Coaching Assistants will help coach and motivate a team of up to 20 high school girls and/or boys enrolled in Row New York’s programs in their pursuit of athletic and academic excellence. They will work between Row New York’s main office in Manhattan and their respective boathouse. An excellent candidate has experience coaching rowing and is committed to sports based youth development.
Development and Special Events Manager
Row New York is seeking an energetic Development & Special Events Manager to work closely with the development and communications team, programming staff, the Board of Directors, and the Young Executives Board (YEB) to coordinate four major fundraising events throughout the year, in addition to smaller community-based events for corporate partners, funders, and other supporters as needed. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development & Special Events Manager will also support Row New York’s Development Department with institutional letters of intent, grants, reports, direct mail and digital fundraising appeals, and entering data/running reports from our Salesforce database as needed.
Community Coaching Corps
Community Coaching Corps Members will commit to a challenging and exciting year at Row New York, the biggest rowing club in NYC. Coaching Corps Members will work closely with a wide range of programs including middle school programs, high school programs and adaptive programs each day at one of our locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan or Queens. Coaching Corps Members will inspire, challenge, and transform New York City’s under-resourced youth and their communities by providing mentorship, and fostering a love of rowing.
Marketing and Communications Paid Internship
Row New York seeks a Marketing and Communications Intern to help us reach a wider audience of potential supporters and participants by capturing compelling content through video, photography, and other storytelling mediums. The Marketing and Communications Intern will report to the Marketing and Communications Manager. The position will work with a wide range of staff and participants at our various boathouse and main office locations. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven college student interested in the communications profession or digital marketing. Must be a current college student/ recent alumni.
Community Assistant – Adaptive Programs
Row New York (RNY) seeks a positive and energetic person to serve as a coach for the community programs in Queens, NY. The coach’s primary focus will be to coach participants in Row New York’s adaptive programs, middle school indoor program, juvenile justice program and representing Row New York at community events. The coach will also have the opportunity to coach various other programs including, but not limited to learn-to-row programs, summer camps, groups, indoor rowing programs, and team building programs, schedule permitting.
